Freeze! Quarter Bar in Uptown Dallas offers booze pops

On Friday, June 21, the popsicles will be $2 each, in honor of the first day of summer.

Booze pops at Quarter Bar: Don't try this at home.

DALLAS — Yes, booze pops: Quarter Bar on McKinney Avenue in Uptown Dallas is selling adult popsicles.

If you've ever tried to make these suckers at home, you know that the liquor-to-fruit-juice ratio has to be just right in order for the popsicles to freeze correctly. Leave all that magic to the bartenders at Quarter Bar, now offering their booze pops for $6 each. On June 21 only, they go on special for $2 each in honor of the first day of summer.

Flavors for 2013 are:

• The Filthy Monkey (Chocolate Banana): 360 Double Chocolate Vodka, Malibu banana rum, and chocolate milk
• Pirate Booty (Root Beer Float): Kahlua coffee liquor, Bailey's Irish Cream, and Abita Root Beer
• Berry Pucker (Strawberry Lemonade): Three Olives Berry Vodka, lemonade, and fresh strawberries
• Laffy Taffy (Strawberry Banana): Malibu banana rum, Three Olives Berry Vodka, pineapple juice, and fresh strawberries
• The Kokomo (Pineapple): Bacardi pineapple infused Rum with orange and pineapple juice
• Dreamsicle (Think Orange Julius): Stoli Vanilla Vodka, Pinnacle Whipped Cream Vodka, and orange juice
• Blemonade (Blackberry Lemonade): Deep Eddy Vodka, lemonade, and fresh blackberries

The Quarter already serves two frozen drinks, a Frozen Cherry Limeade and Frozen Jack and Coke.

Each booze pop is created by pouring the liquor'n'fruit mix into a clear Solo cup, which is then pierced with a popsicle stick and frozen overnight.

They're actually available year-round, but who eats popsicles in the winter?
