Hop to it if you’re a fan of Lemongrass Asian Bistro in Deep Ellum: It is serving its last meal today, and lunch service ends at 3 p.m. Lemongrass will close after lunch and will not reopen.

The Dallas Morning News reported in June that executive chef Tuyet Davis had plans to open a restaurant in NorthPark Center called Pho Kitchen. Lemongrass’ closure in Deep Ellum was expected, though for a time an owner maintained it would remain open.

Chef Davis said Thursday she hopes for an early November debut of Pho Kitchen at NorthPark. Davis and her team will serve traditional banh mi sandwiches and noodle bowls; see the menu here.

As for the Lemongrass space at 2711 Elm Street, it will become a bar called On Premise from the co-owners who plan to open the Mitchell a few blocks away on Main Street in downtown Dallas.

The plan for On Premise is “shared plates, more of a bar,” says co-owner Adam Salazar. He would also like a rooftop patio. Salazar’s business partner, Chris Beardon, is involved with newish Deep Ellum speakeasy called Truth & Alibi, located a block away.

Salazar hopes to open On Premise in six to eight weeks. “Deep Ellum’s coming back,” he says.
