DALLAS (105.3 THE FAN) – The Cowboys’ formula for success over the last six weeks is no secret. Run the ball and control the clock.

Knowing what the Cowboys want to do and knowing how to stop it — those are two different things.

Former Cowboys and Hall of Fame wide receiver Michael Irvin says the Dallas offense isn’t simply taking what the defense gives it, it is taking what it wants.

“Right now…we’re going to impose our will. We will dictate to you,” said Irvin on The G-Bag Nation on 105.3 The Fan. “We know you want to stop the run, and you still can’t stop the run. That’s how you dictate. That’s where you come back and say you are unstoppable. Cause I know what you’re trying to stop, and you can’t stop it. It’s incredible to watch man.”

Irvin was encouraged to see the Cowboys rushing attack continue to thrive on Sunday, despite missing right tackle Doug Free. Fifth-year tackle Jermey Parnell filled in on the right side, and Dallas rushed for 151 yards on 33 carries.

“They still got that thing rolling,” said Irvin.

Irvin spent some time at practice this week, alongside quarterback Troy Aikman. His observation — there’s something special happening at Valley Ranch.

“There was an energy at practice…I know they see and feel like this is the beginning of really having something out here.”
