Yes, every member has a Profile on Vimeo. We recommend that you customize it by uploading a portrait and maybe telling us a thing or two (or seven) about yourself. We have a very friendly community here, so we encourage you to enter our safe space and share your innermost secrets. Or maybe just your outermost secrets. We don't want things to get too real.

PRO members have the ability to keep their profile and videos off Vimeo.com by activating Private Mode.

You can get to your Profile Settings in a couple different ways. You can click Settings below the portrait on your Profile page, or hover your mouse over “Me” in the top navigation bar. From there, click My Settings then the Profile tab.

​From the Profile tab, you can upload and edit a portrait, add a bio, set your location, customize your profile URL, and add links to your Tumblr, Flickr, Twitter, MySpace (ha!), etc. You can also choose up to three of your very best videos to feature on your profile page.

Once you've finished updating your information, don't forget to save your changes, OK?

Anything that tickles your fancy. Share something about yourself, and maybe tell us why you use Vimeo. What kinds of videos do you like to watch or make? What kind of camera do you use? How many cats do you have? This is the spot to write a little about yourself and things that interest you. Many members also link to their blogs or other personal websites.

The so-called happy face — that timeless work of modern art — is the default portrait that shows up on your Profile until you add your own. We encourage you to replace this image with your own portrait to add a little non-generic flair to your Profile.

To add your portrait, head to your Profile Settings. You'll see two options within the Portrait section: either upload an existing image from your hard drive, or use your computer's web cam to take a new photo. If you choose to upload a pre-existing image, please make sure it is a JPG, GIF, or PNG file. Images sized to 300x300 pixels are best, because they won't need to be cropped.

You can upload several different portraits and choose one as your primary picture.

Want to delete a portrait (maybe you finally realized that taking selfies from above is not really acceptable anymore)? Hover your mouse over the image and click on the red X in the top right corner. If you have only one portrait uploaded, you'll need to upload a new one before you can delete the existing portrait.

Why yes indeed. Our Portrait Editor allows you to apply sexy filters to your images right here on Vimeo.

To start editing, head to your Profile Settings, hover your mouse over your portrait, and click the blue pencil icon in the upper right hand corner. As you browse among our nine filters, keep in mind that you can adjust the intensity of each one by clicking the little gear icon. Once you've perfected your image, click Save Portrait.

Your edited portrait will now appear alongside the original version. Select it, click Save Changes, and bask in your newfound radness! Dang, you look good.

Head to your Profile Settings and hover your mouse over the picture you'd like to delete, then click on the scary red X in the top right corner.

If you have only one portrait uploaded, you'll need to upload a new one before you can delete the existing portrait.

Oh, for sure. To change your username, hover your mouse over Me in the top navigation bar, then click "My Settings." You can also access this area by clicking Settings on your Profile.

From there, type your desired username in the field under “Name.” A lot of people use their real names. On the Internet! Also, don't forget to save your changes.

The only way to stop Google from indexing your Profile on Vimeo is to delete your account (which, frankly, we're not in favor of). Or, you can use a different username so your account doesn't show up if people search for your actual name.

To prevent your recent activity from showing up on your Profile, click Settings from your Profile page. Head to the Advanced tab and check the option under “Site Preferences” that says, “I prefer not to show my recent activity on my profile page.”

Head to your Profile Settings. Under “Vimeo URL,” enter your desired custom URL, and don't forget to click Save Changes. Now you’re fancy.

Absolutely. You can feature up to three videos. Just head to your Profile Settings and scroll down to the “Featured Videos” section. There, you'll see three fields where you can either enter the URL of the desired video, or search through your library by typing the video's title.

Once you've selected your Featured Videos, be sure to click Save Changes, and you're better-than-good to go.

While viewing your videos on your My Videos page (vimeo.com/your-username/videos), you can sort them by date, alphabetical order, plays, likes, comments, or duration by clicking on the appropriate filter in My Videos.

If you'd like to present your videos in a specific order, you can add them to an Album or Channel and arrange them however you like. But that's a whole other story...

Your Profile is prime real estate, so we don’t want to clutter it up. We do show the number of Channels and Groups that you follow and moderate via the “Collections” button, though.  

If you want to see only the Channels or Groups you moderate, hover your mouse over Collections, then click either Groups or Channels. From there, click “Moderated” in the sort bar below “My Channels” or “My Groups.”
