Grapevine-based Dallas Airmotive Inc., a provider of turbine engine overhaul and repair services, is starting on its new 20-acre test facility and rotorcraft center at the southern end of Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport.
The move — an expansion for the company — will help Dallas Airmotive consolidate portions of its turbine engine repair and overhaul business leading to a more streamlined and efficient business model, said Doug Meador, president of the company, which is a subsidiary of BBA Aviation.
"Here, we have the capacity and flexibility to provide world class repair, overhaul, and test services to our rotorcraft and fixed-wing customers," Meador said, in a statement.
Meador added the new DFW Airport location is the future of Dallas Airmotive and gives the company a site to pursue new opportunities for business.
Plans for the new facility include a new rotorcraft center and six-cell test facility: three for turbo shaft engines and three for turbo fan engines. This evolution mirrors a similar transformation for the company at Dallas Love Field airport.
"Our company is evolving to address changes in the industry and adapt to our customer's needs," Meador said. "As we make these changes, we are becoming better at what we do and our goal is to offer the best service and support on the planet."
