Introduced in July in the U.S. House, the Hide No Harm Act establishes criminal penalties for company executives who fail to warn the public when they discover that a product they make or sell, or a service they provide, is dangerous. Although the bill was sparked by the General Motors ignition switch fiasco, it would apply to all manufacturers of consumer products distributed across state lines.
