To all Seagovillians:  Please settle down.  This blog is a constant battle among Dallasites, Fort Worth types, Planoans, Carrolltoners, Arlingtoners, etc.  There are virtual fights that take place here about the definition of Old East Dallas vs. East Dallas, Lakewood, Uptown, Downtown, Oak Cliff, Bishop Arts, Redbird and so on.  Please do not take offense that you have finally been chosen as click bait for the Observer. My tiny suburb almost never gets so honored, not that any of us should care.  Who cares what anyone thinks about your town/city?  If you like it, keep on living there.

For what it's worth, I've been to Seagoville a few times, and there's nothing wrong with it.  It is a nice place.  And no, I was not imprisoned at the time.  ;-)

Stephan Young should really should change the title at the very least. It's a cheap shot and unfair to the residents of Seagoville. ....regardless of the reputation.

I would like to invite every person who does not live in Seagoville to come out sometime. Our downtown is thriving, we know everyone by name when we're in town, we watch each others homes, we still open our windows on nice evenings, we all know our neighbors & we have a sense of community. Yes we have Idiots who come through here & use our town as a " dumping ground"! What city doesn't? Tonight is our Seagoville Night Out to come together in our neighborhoods to talk about issues our town deals with. Do you know your neighbors? Will you be in the streets tonight, shaking hands, discussing how you can improve your city & enjoying great fellowship?

so there is a downside to having ink on your face, aside from not being all that employable!?

If this is what Seagoville looks like, then what does Dallas look like? Ebola, maybe?

Get the fact straight Observer he's not from Seagoville nor does he represent the people of my home town.

Dallas Observer..you owe the people of Seagoville an apology for that headline. This guy is probably not from Seagoville and does NOT represent this town.

In a Seagoville trailer park, it was probably self defense.

I'm thinking if his momma would have just given him a couple more hugs growing up, this would have never happened.

Be careful, the trailer trash in Seagoville are complaining that this guy is giving them a bad name.

Just a few more gallons of ink and they could have covered his entire face.

@cowboyyoungbuck

That's a well-written, friendly, and open statement of pride. May Seagoville continue to grow sons and daughters like you, and may other towns display the same pride and community spirit.

(The above message is 100% snark-free, I genuinely wish y'all well. But your fellow citizens posting here would be advised to bring, along with a spare chaw, a sense of humor and a thick skin.)

@rhonda.potter

Fact -- is he "probably not" from Seagoville as you say below, or "not" from Seagoville as you say here?

Understandable that you don't recognize him, as I suspect he didn't stick around in school much, and here you are, spelling correctly and all.

The Dallas Observer is a libertarian tabloid.  The company doesn't really understand things like journalistic integrity, or social responsibility.  They just like taking pot-shots at folks outside of their whites-only, drunken frat boy community.

Everyone who commented live in brick homes ( not that it matters) we are a " tight nit" community who take up for each other. We are proud citizens who are involved in our city & welcome you anytime. ;)

Come visit Seagoville! You will love it! Actually everyone who posted live in brick homes. Not that it matters... You will see how friendly our community is a want to move here. ;) Thank you for your time!

20 mins after you posted this, Rhonda Potter protested. Notice how she went from "probably not" to "not" from Seagoville, in less than one minute?

Profiling is illegal now I think. They can't search for tattooed white trash, they'll probably have to arrest an Asian.

@wcvemail @rhonda.potter

His drivers license indicates he is from Brazoria, Texas.  Issued in 2009.

Released on 8/27/14 department of correction (from TDC - Seagoville is a Fed pen)  for a crime - Assault on a Public Servant.  Date of offense:  10/26/10 Houston County; Date of sentencing 12/02/2010 (that was quick) 3rd Degree felony.

Born 7/2/92; 6'2" 200 lbs - baddass.

Spent time in Juvenal detention from 2006 at Brownwood.

We don't need this fool running around amongst us.

Hopefully he was committing a robbery at the time of the murder, so he's eligible for the needle.

Otherwise he'll just kill some innocents before we can put him down.

He's the poster boy for why we have executions.

Well of course shes offended..we live here...its unfortunate that happened in one of our 2 trailer parks but when an apartment in town cost $800 a month.. People chose to live in a 3 bedroom trailer with the sense of a house for the same price. Ive actually drove by that trailer park. People actually have manicured lawns & new looking trailers. The management does a very good job.

This guy was not from Seagoville and y'alls comments make you look ignorant! What about all the other people that live in trailer parks around Dallas? Do you think they are trailer park trash too or is it just people from Seagoville?

@Sharon_Moreanus

Thanks for checking, I guess. Race, sexuality, bad tattoos, a trailer park -- the only thing missing so far is the meth.

@cowboyyoungbuck

BTW, I'm curious: is there a town or area that Seagoville is proud not to be? Who do y'all consider backwoods? Like Dallas used to look down on Fort Worth, Shreveport looks down on Bossier City, etc.

You are now our designated go-to ambassadress (yep) for things Seagoville. Drop by more often, will ya, not just on the weird stories.

Actually, soft, overweight, minimally-educated Toby Keith fans are why we have executions.

I'm continually tickled by humans' need to be better than SOMEbody. In SE Tx, Houston looks down on Beaumont, which looks down on Vidor, and I understand that Vidorians have a neighboring hamlet that's beneath them.

In this case, the new double-wide folks probably look down on the second-hand trailer folks. And people with high school diplomas, most of their own teeth, etc.

@wcvemail @Sharon_Moreanus ohhhh there's meth involved.  When I first saw his picture (although I have seen worse) my first thought was...this guy is wayyyy gone.  My second thought was....I feel sorry for his mother.

@cowboyyoungbuck  You haven't been in Louisiana lately, have you?. These days, it's Bossier that looks down on Shreveport, lol.

ColonelAngus

@wcvemail @cowboyyoungbuck  OK wcv, I must challenge your statement.  Shrevespote proper likes to look down on BC, but many of their yuppie kids move there, and have for decades.  The Bossier side of the river is way nicer.

Were so small we just try to help each other.. My opinion of " the Wrong Side of The Tracks" is different for everyone! Example: I was looking for my sister a starter home in a certain part of town & the neighbor let us know we werent welcomed to purchase the home for sale next to him so... Away we went..Quickly! Lol I said " Girl were on the wrong side of the tracks! " lol....Just was an unhappy man.

Thank god Im a Skinny Toby Keith fan! Lol If he brought on the " Death Penalty" Im all for it! ;)
