The Denton Drilling Awareness Group (Denton DAG) is collecting signatures for a ballot initiative to ban hydraulic fracturing within city limits. (Read the petition HERE.) If approved by voters, Denton would become the first major Texas city to ban fracking, and the first city in the country to ban fracking after permits had been previously granted.

There are two petition signing events this weekend:

t-shirtSaturday Feb. 22, from 2-5 p.m
Fuzzy’s Tacos
115 Industrial Street
downtown Denton

Look for people wearing this shirt.

Sunday Feb. 23, 9:30 to 11:30 a.m
Denton Unitarian Universalist Church
1111 Cordell St.
near DHSfrom

Anybody registered to vote in the City of Denton can sign the petition.

Not registered to vote? Come by and we will register you.

Petition circulators can bring completed petitions to the Fuzzy Tacos and I will notarize them for you. Please bring your driver’s license.
