General Dynamics earnings rise as revenues holds steady at $7.75B

Falls Church-based General Dynamics got a lift from its Aerospace division last quarter, boosting its net earnings nearly 7 percent. Revenues were virtually unchanged.

General Dynamics said Wednesday net earnings for the quarter were $696 million, $2.06 per diluted share. That compares with $651 million, $1.84 per diluted share, in the year-ago period.

Revenues in the quarter were $7.75 billion compared with $7.74 billion. Aerospace sales totaled $2.3 billion, best of the four operating units and just ahead of Information Systems and Technology. Aerospace's operating earnings was also highest among the four units at $411 million, as was operating margin at 18 percent.
