Thomas Longe, former chairman, president and CEO of TIB Financial Corp., is joining the board of directors of Home BancShares Inc.

Longe, who lives in Naples, is expected to play a key role in Home BancShares' growth in Florida, a statement from the bank said.

Home BancShares (NASDAQ: HOMB), based in Conway, Ark., has been expanding the presence of its subsidiary, Centennial Bank, in Florida, including its recent purchase of Florida Traditions Bank in Dade City.

Home BancShares now has more than one-third of its $7.2 billion total assets in Florida, John Allison, chairman, said in the statement, "so adding additional representation from the area makes sense."

Longe is president and chief operating officer of The Trianon Cos., and has been involved in the acquisition, development, management and financial of commercial and residential real estate developments for more than 30 years.

Longe also negotiated the recapitalization and sale of TIB Financial to North American Financial Holdings.

Margie Manning is Quality and Content Editor of the Tampa Bay Business Journal. She also covers banking, finance and professional services.
