Boston-based cloud computing firm ProfitBricks has announced a new pricing plan that cuts costs by 30 percent as it continues a pricing war in the industry.

The company, which opened a San Antonio officer earlier this year, kicked off the current price war with a 50 percent drop in July 2013. With the latest price drop, a basic cloud package for two dedicated central processing units with 500 gigabytes of block storage is $73.95 per month, including support at ProfitBricks and $138.38 per month with support at Amazon.

"With our approach, customers can tailor their service to meet their exact requirements, and avoid over- or under-buying of cloud infrastructure," said Andreas Gauger, co-founder of ProfitBricks, in a statement.

ProfitBricks provides its clients with access to cloud servers, storage and networks using its own platform.
