If you've been by the site of the future downtown sports and entertainment center in Sacramento, you already know there's not a lot left of buildings being torn down to see.
According to an update from the Sacramento Kings, this week will see large-scale excavation work and installation of dewatering systems for what's now essentially a giant hole in the dirt.
Mass excavation and off-site soil hauling, much of it done at night, will get underway or continue next week, according to the Kings.
Future of downtown: Continuing coverage of the Sacramento Kings and arena
Ben van der Meer covers real estate, development, construction, transportation and the business of sports for the Sacramento Business Journal.
