NBA general managers did just that prior to the start of the 2014-2015 campaign in the league’s 13th annual GM Survey, and according to the results, they believe the Cleveland Cavaliers are the team to beat in the Eastern Conference.

70.4 percent of general manager selected the Cavs to represent the East in the NBA Finals, but only 15.2 percent believe Cleveland will win the title this season.

The San Antonio Spurs are the heavy favorite to win it all, garnering 46.2 percent of general managers’ votes.

The Chicago Bulls — the Cavs biggest potential threat in the East — came in third at 11.5 percent.

LeBron James, as you can guess, was a popular pick in the players section among GMs.

According to the survey, James is the most likely to take home the MVP award, receiving 67.9 percent of GM votes.

Half of the league’s general managers also believe LeBron is the best player to begin an NBA franchise with. Oklahoma City’s Kevin Durant and New Orleans’ Anthony Davis tied for second at 25 percent.

No surprise, 89.3 percent of GMs believe Cleveland had the league’s best off-season.
