Blotter: Store says customer paid for one table saw, took two

Just one table saw was not enough for a thief this weekend.

Denton officers were dispatched to a hardware store in the 1200 block of South Loop 288 in reference to a theft report.

The caller told police that a customer had paid cash for a table saw and left the store with it. The customer then returned to the store, picked up a second table saw, and left the store using the receipt from the first one as proof of payment, according to the caller.

Police are investigating the incident.

Other reports

2100 block of Spencer Road — Denton police responded to a domestic disturbance call at a residence. The caller reported getting into a physical altercation with her daughter.

600 block of Bernard Street — A man reported that he had parked his motorcycle and returned some hours later to find it missing.

From 7 a.m. Friday to 7 a.m. Monday:

Denton County sheriff’s dispatchers handled 2,139 service and officer-initiated calls for the agencies they serve. A total of 115 people were booked into Denton County Jail.

Denton police handled 874 service and officer-initiated calls and posted 43 reports online.

Denton firefighters responded to 46 medical calls, a gas spill, two vehicle accidents with injuries, a vehicle accident with no injuries, a service call, a good-intent call, a vehicle fire, a trash fire and three police matters and assisted five invalids.
