A 30-year-old inmate was charged with harassment after he allegedly spit on a detention officer in the Denton County Jail on Wednesday evening.
According to a Denton County Sheriff’s Office report, a deputy was dispatched to the pretrial facility in the 1400 block of Troy H Lagrone Drive at 6:43 p.m. Wednesday in reference to an assault. The deputy learned an inmate housed there had spit on an employee, according to reports.
The inmate, a Krum man, was initially booked into the jail on a charge of resisting arrest.
His bond is $10,000, according to jail records.

2300 block of Britt Drive — A 35-year-old man was walking shortly before 9 p.m. Wednesday when he was approached by three men who demanded his wallet and then assaulted him, according to Denton County Sheriff’s Office officials.
Deputies said no property belonging to the victim was taken and the case remains under investigation.
