A 54-year-old man was arrested on theft charges with two or more prior convictions Saturday evening, according to a police report.
Denton police officers responded to a shoplifting call at Walmart in the 1500 block of South Loop 288, where a loss prevention officer reported that a man left the store with a basket filled with items he didn’t buy, loaded them into his car and returned to fill his basket one more time.
The suspect once again bypassed the checkout counters before he was caught, according to the employee.
When officers questioned the suspect at the store, he confessed several times to not paying for the items but then contradicted himself by saying he didn’t do anything wrong, according to the report.
He was arrested and transported to the city jail.
