Denton police responding to a welfare call Friday night left with a suspect in handcuffs, police said.
Shortly before 7 p.m., police arrived at a residence in the the 900 block of North Austin Street in reference to a welfare concern, according to police records.
After an investigation, officers charged a 31-year-old woman with abandoning or endangering a child with intent to return, reports state.
The child, a 13-year-old girl, was removed from the residence by Child Protective Services, records show.

1700 block of Teasley Lane — Denton police met with a building owner Friday morning after he reported a burglary, reports state.
According to reports, the building owner told police he believed a prior resident stole the copper out of an air conditioner.
Officers took a report but are waiting on more information before taking any further action, police said.
1300 block of Johnson Street — An owner of an area mini-storage unit reported being a victim of a burglary recently.
Police said the owner called at 9:27 a.m. Friday to report her business was burglarized.
The storage unit facility she owns and five of her units were compromised sometime overnight Wednesday, according to reports.
