Police are on the lookout for two female suspects who allegedly robbed a credit union and locked the employees in a safe early Saturday.

A customer walked into the business in the 2500 block of Flower Mound Road on Saturday morning to discover there were no employees in the lobby. He heard noises coming from an area where the safe is located, according to a news release issued by the Flower Mound Police Department.

Police said the bank customer was able to communicate with the employees. He called the police at 8:17 a.m. and upon arrival, they were able to release the two employees from the safe after contacting additional employees of the credit union.

After investigation, police said they learned that two, armed, dark-skinned females overpowered the two employees. An undisclosed amount of money was taken and the two suspects locked the two employees in the safe before they left, police said.

Both suspects were described as 5 feet, 6 inches tall with black hair and a thin build. One was wearing all black clothing and was armed with a semi-automatic handgun, according to the news release, and the other was wearing pink and white clothing, a hat and sunglasses and was armed with a knife.

The Flower Mound Police Department and the Federal Bureau of Investigation are working jointly on the investigation. Anyone with information about the incident is asked to call 972-539-0525. Anonymous tips can be made by calling 972-874-3307.
