Packers ready to raze Kmart, other buildings near Lambeau

The Green Bay Packers will tear down the shuttered Kmart building it owns near Lambeau Field before the winter sets in to save money on maintenance, fire protection and security.

The team, which also recently acquired two gas stations west of the stadium, now owns nearly all of the parcels between Lambeau and Marlee Lane about a half-mile away. The Packers want to redevelop the property into uses that provide non-football sources of revenue for the team.
