Support and Sponsor

They're words that you hear often on public radio - and worth saying again: "Thank you for your support!" Millions of listeners across the country sustain public radio. And corporate sponsors, philanthropists and foundations play a key role too.

Focus on Stations

Member Station Collaborations Make the StateImpact

With the StateImpact project, NPR Member Stations in eight states are working together on-air and online to report on how state issues and policy affect people's lives. As part of this innovative project, each state has a dedicated website focused on one of three issues: education, energy, or the economy. Learn more about the stations taking part in this important national/local journalism project, and project highlights.

Funding Story

NPR's revenue comes primarily from fees paid by our member stations, contributions from corporate sponsors, institutional foundation grants, gifts from major donors, and fees paid by users of the Public Radio Satellite System. We receive no direct federal funding for operations. The largest share of NPR's revenue comes from program fees and station dues paid by member stations that broadcast NPR programs.
