Houston hotel tops Condé Nast list

Houston's Hotel Sorella CityCentre topped Condé Nast Traveler's Best Hotels in Texas & the Southwest: Readers' Choice Awards 2014, landing the No. 1 spot with a score of 93.15.
In all, six Houston hotels made the the magazine's list, which was released on Oct. 20. The other Houston hotels on the list are Hotel Granduca at No. 3; Hotel Icon, ranked at No. 6; the Houstonian Hotel, Club & Spa, ranked at No. 9; St. Regis Houston, ranked No. 16; and Hotel Derek, ranked No. 18.
In addition to being at the top of the Texas and Southwest hotels list, Hotel Sorella also came in at No. 74 on Condé Nast Traveler's Top 100 Hotels & Resorts in the World: Readers' Choice Awards 2014. The only other Texas hotel to make that list is Lake Austin Spa Resort, which ranked No. 21.
Hotel Sorella and Hotel Granduca also ranked on Condé Nast's 2014 Gold List, which was released in December and was based on the 2013 Readers' Choice Awards. It was Hotel Sorella's fourth year in a row on the Gold List, which would qualify it for the Platinum Circle this year.
In 2013, four Houston hotels made Condé Nast Traveler's newest readers' choice list of the "Top 15 Hotels in Texas."
