Contract Packaging Resources, a Greensboro-based drug repackaging company, is voluntarily recalling nearly 12,000 boxes of pain-relief tablets because of a packaging error.

Some boxes labeled as Assured brand naproxen tablets actually contain bottles of ibuprofen, which is another pain reliever, according to a press release from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration. The recalled products were distributed nationally to Dollar Tree stores.

Some people experience allergic reactions when they take ibuprofen, the FDA noted. No adverse events have been reported in connection with this recall.

Consumers who believed they were buying 220mg naproxen tablets may have ended up with 200mg ibuprofen softgels, according to the FDA. They can return the recalled products to the place where they purchased them or call the company at 336-252-3422.
