You may be thinking of the older version of Vimeo PRO, which offered storage in 50GB increments and had play limitations. It was pretty cool, but the new PRO is way cooler.

If you’re currently using the older version of Vimeo PRO, you can power up now from your Settings page. If you’re opted into auto-renew, your account will automatically switch to the new PRO account on your renewal date, as long as your renewal date is on or after November 15, 2013.

With Vimeo PRO, you can upload up to 20GB of video per week, or up to 1,040GB per year.

We calculate storage based on the size of your original source files. We do not factor in additional SD, HD, and mobile versions of your video that we generate for playback. Those versions are on the house!

To reduce the amount of storage you use, try adjusting your compression settings (aka export settings) to reduce your file size. Check out our recommended compression settings to get started.

Businesses may not use Basic or Plus accounts to host videos. If you want to upload commercial videos, you must use Vimeo PRO.
 
Commercial content includes:
 
·       Videos promoting or representing a for-profit business or brand
·       Videos containing any form of advertising
·       Videos hosted on behalf of a business (i.e., uploaded to Vimeo and embedded on your company’s website)
·       Product demos and tutorials

There are exceptions, however! If you are an independent production company, author, artist, or non-profit, you may use any account type (Basic, Plus, or PRO) to showcase your work.

Private Mode, exclusively for Vimeo PRO members, enables you to keep your profile page and videos from appearing on Vimeo.com.

It’s a great option if you’re using Vimeo PRO to host videos that are intended only for your business’ website or places other than Vimeo.com.  

In addition, you must use Private Mode if you’re uploading commercial content that may have a negative impact on viewer experience (for instance, by clogging search results with scores of similar videos). Read more in the Vimeo Guidelines.

If you're a PRO member, you can activate or deactivate Private Mode from your Account Settings. Simply scroll down to the "Private Mode" section, check the box that says "Activate / Deactivate Private Mode," and then save your changes.

Needless to say (we hope), all of your videos must still comply with our Terms of Service and Guidelines, even in Private Mode.

In Private Mode, your videos will not be publicly visible on Vimeo.com and you're not able to use Groups or Channels. However, you can still use Vimeo to host, organize and share your videos in the following ways:

• Embed your videos on your website or other places around the web. (You can even add domain-level privacy.)
• Showcase your videos in a beautiful PRO Portfolio.
• Share videos with clients using Video Review Pages.
• Organize your videos with Albums.

Vimeo PRO gives you unlimited HD plays. That’s right — THERE ARE NO PLAY LIMITS!!!

Add-on packages no longer exist — they were part of the previous version of Vimeo PRO. If you’re running out of storage space or plays, just upgrade the new Vimeo PRO from your Settings to get up to 20GB of storage each week and unlimited HD plays, at no additional cost.

Absolutely! You can sell your work, your way with a wonderful set of tools called Vimeo On Demand.

As a PRO member, you can upload videos that contain ads. However, you’ll need to use editing software to integrate those ads into your video before uploading.
 
If the ads are particularly jarring to Vimeo.com viewers — or lead people to believe they’re being served or endorsed by Vimeo — a moderator may require to you keep the videos private or put your account in Private Mode.
 
Please note that the Vimeo player doesn’t support pre-roll, post-roll, or overlay ads.
 
For pre-roll, post-roll, eye-roll, or overlay ad integration, you may use a third-party player.

If you’re using the old version of Vimeo PRO (with storage in 50GB increments), your videos will be removed from Vimeo and your account will be deleted when your subscription expires. To prevent this from happening, you can opt in to the new PRO plan from your Settings.
 
With the current version on PRO, your account will revert to Basic Membership if your PRO subscription expires. When you revert to Basic, the following actions will take place:
 
Features: You will lose access to Vimeo PRO features like priority conversion, VIP support, Advanced Stats, custom embed settings, domain-level privacy, Portfolios, Review Pages, FTP uploading, and Vimeo On Demand.

Weekly Upload Limits: You will have an upload limit of 500MB and 1 HD video per week.

Video Storage: If your PRO account expires, you will keep any videos you uploaded while you were a Basic member, but you may lose some of the videos uploaded during your subscription.

For videos uploaded during your PRO membership, you will receive storage equivalent to 26GB multiplied by the number of years you were a PRO or Plus member. For example, if you were a PRO member for two years and your account lapses, we will store up to 52GB of your videos. We do this because 26GB is the maximum amount that Basic members can upload in one year.

Any storage needs above your cap (26GB x years of PRO/Plus membership) will be moved to our archive for storage up to one year, starting with your earliest videos (the videos you first uploaded to Vimeo). If you renew your PRO membership during that time, you’ll regain access to those videos.
 
Collections: You will keep Groups, Channels, and Albums you created as a PRO member, but you will not be able to create new ones beyond the Basic limits.

Please note: If you’re using Vimeo PRO for commercial purposes, you must maintain your PRO membership or remove your videos when your account expires.

Embedded Videos: Any videos with custom embed settings for will revert to the default embed options for Basic accounts.

Source Files: Any source files that were stored on Vimeo will be deleted after 60 days and cannot be recovered. The HD and SD versions of your videos will remain available.

 

If your PRO account expires, you will keep any videos you uploaded as a Basic member but you may lose some of the videos uploaded during your subscription.

For videos uploaded during your PRO membership, you will receive storage equivalent to 26GB multiplied by the number of years you were a Plus or PRO member.
