A law firm is moving its office to Washington Township from a building near the Dayton Mall.
Surdyk, Dowd & Turner, which employs about 25 at an office at 1 Prestige Place in Miamisburg and an office in West Chester, is moving to Yankee Point at the beginning of 2015.
The Prestige Place building, now owned by Kettering Health Network, no longer fits the firm's needs, said Managing Partner Jeff Turner.
"It is not very conducive to a professional setting if you're not in the medical business," Turner said. "This allows us to conduct business in a professional setting that's more centrally located for our clients."
As Turner's firm moves out, Kettering Health Network likely will find use for the space for its own employees, as health care organizations in the Dayton region continue to expand to meet demands of a growing and aging population.
Turner said the company plans to hire a few more employees for the new office at 8163 Old Yankee St. and for the West Chester office, which just opened this year.
RG Properties owns the building. Paul Miller, brokerage vice president with Colliers International, represented Turner in the lease negotiations for the 6,000-square-foot space.
