In a bid to play a bigger role in the transformation of the U.S. government's Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services, Booz Allen Hamilton has purchased the Baltimore-based health care unit of Genova Technologies.
The business includes a facility in Baltimore and a staff of about 40 people who currently provide IT solutions and strategy for the CMS, according to a report in the Washington Business Journal.
Terms of the acquisition were not disclosed. Cedar Rapids, Iowa-based Genova Technologies will retain its defense and commercial businesses.
Booz Allen has a Dayton-area office that has been among the larger defense contractors in the region based on work won from Wright-Patterson Air Force Base.
