Far North Dallas’ craft beer retail giant Lonestar Beverages is opening a new location in Lewisville, but it won’t just be selling bottles and cans.

The new joint, deemed Lone Star Taps & Caps, will have a 50-tap bar and growler filling station in addition to more than 500 different bottled and canned brews, according to a press release. The store’s selection will include local, national, and international brands of craft beer and cider.

Lone Star Taps & Caps, will be right off of Highway 121 and Josey Lane in Lewisville, near Target, and directly next to Rockfish. Patrons will be able to buy pints and flights to drink on premise, as well as growlers and bottles to take home.

Owners Sam and Rick Ali have been at the forefront of the craft community since 2006, when they opened Lonestar Beverages in Carrollton in 2006. The store has become a local staple with a huge “beer cave” (think refrigerated walk-in) and the goal to provide a hub for the craft beer community, Rick told me in April.

Taps & Caps is expected to open this fall, in late October or early November, just in time for North Texas Beer Week. Coincidence? I think not.
