Spence Faxon, CEO of Energy Alliances Inc., died Oct. 16 after suffering a heart attack. He was 63.
Faxon was an entrepreneur and in 1985 co-founded Energy Alliances, a Cincinnati-based energy brokerage firm, with partners John Faxon, Bill Grafe and Mark Bishop. He helped grow the firm into a multimillion-dollar business serving 100,000 accounts, primarily in Southwest Ohio.
"We're going to miss Spence greatly," and we're grateful for his leadership and insight for positioning us as a leader in the energy market," Bishop said.
He was a native of Indian Hill, and after graduating from the University of Cincinnati, he became a top sales agent and broker at M&M Realty. He also owned Spartan Properties, which rehabbed and managed rental units.
Faxon was active in the community and served on the board of the Cincinnati Human Relations Commission. He supported the Prospect House drug and alcohol treatment facility, which his father helped found.
Survivors include his wife, Mary Virginia "Jenny" Faxon; daughter, Sydney Faxon Trout; stepsons Brian and Douglas Phillips; brother John Faxon; son-in-law Greg Trout, and grandsons Kian and Spence Trout.
A visitation is planned for Oct. 22 from 5-7 p.m., with funeral service following at the Gwen Mooney Funeral Home at Spring Grove Cemetery. The family requests that memorials be sent to Prospect House, 682 Hawthorne Ave., Cincinnati 45205.
