BEAUMONT, Texas (CBS Houston) – A Beaumont woman is claiming she has been cast out of her church because she uses marijuana.
Faith Bodle KBMT-TV she uses cannabis extract to treat her degenerative spine disease, congestive heart failure and arthritis.
But when she appeared earlier on the station at an event advocating the use of medical marijuana, her fellow congregants at Beaumont Seventh Day Adventist Church complained to the pastor.
Bodle asserts her pastor then wrote her a letter demanding she stop promoting medical marijuana and then six weeks later the church revoked her membership.
She now wants to educate people about the medical uses for cannabis.
“It’s about bringing relief from pain and suffering and that’s what’s Jesus wants he doesn’t want to see his children suffer and that’s why he created this awesome plant,” Bodle told the station.
