Royal Cup's presence in the Southeast is about to get stronger.

The Birmingham-based coffee and tea company has launched a mobile cafe that will commute to community, sporting and special events throughout the Southeast, offering samples of the corporation's teas and coffees.

"We're excited to have a new avenue to provide world-class Royal Cup service to our customers and communities," said Ben Pitts, vice president of food service and hospitality at Royal Cup. "The mobile café allows us to have one-on-one connections with our customers and interact with them at various events across the country."

The mobile cafe will be a Mercedes Sprinter Cargo Van, which is custom built to produce coffee, tea and other beverages offered by Royal Cup, including lattes and espresso.

"We have plans for the mobile cafe to attend a variety of events," Pitts said. "At first, the cafe will focus on traveling to events in the Southeast as they are the most drivable."

Royal Cup already has a fleet of brown trucks on the road. The mobile cafe joins that fleet equipped with a barista.

Expect to see the mobile cafe at SEC football games, the Mercedes Marathon and the McGladrey Classic PGA golf tournament taking place this week in Sea Island, Ga.
