RUHLIN, Robert "Rob" Charles Robert "Rob" Charles Ruhlin passed away at Methodist Dallas Medical Center in Dallas TX on the morning of October 18, 2014, as a result of injuries received in a traffic accident. Rob was 33 years old. Rob was born in Houston, TX on November 1, 1980. He was the oldest child of Judy Mosley Ruhlin and Bruce Michael Ruhlin. Rob and his family moved to Charleston, WV in April 1990. Rob went to Sacred Heart Elementary and was a graduate of Charleston Catholic High School in 1999. In 2003, Rob graduated from The Ohio State University in Columbus Ohio with degrees in Psychology, Philosophy, and Political Science. He received his Juris Doctor at The Ohio State University Moritz College of Law on June 11, 2006. He received a Master of Law in Taxation from the New York University School of Law in 2010. Rob was licensed to practice law in Texas, New York, several US District Courts, and the United States Tax Court. On July 5th 2003, Rob married Kristen Adele Pinkston. Although the marriage ended in 2010, Rob and Kristen remained friends. After law school in 2006, Rob and Kristen moved to New York, NY. While working for a couple of small law firms, he attended NYU. In August 2010, Rob relocated from New York to Dallas with 3 boxes, a suitcase, and a snowboard. In Dallas, Rob worked for Meadows Collier before starting his own practice and was of counsel with Blanscet, Hooper, and Hale; and was most recently of counsel with Chad West. Rob is survived by his parents Bruce and Judy Ruhlin, and his brother Michael "Mike" Paul Ruhlin. He is also survived by many loving grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. The Ruhlin family will be present to receive friends Thursday, October 23 from 6:00 PM - 9:00 PM at Dettling Funeral Home, 14094 Memorial Dr, Houston, TX 77079.
