THORNTON, Charles B. Charles B. Thornton, 85, died in Cedar Hill, TX on October 16, 2014. He was born May 15, 1929 in Lee County, TX to Ira Lee Thornton and Anna Frieda Mackel. He graduated from Cedar Hill High School in 1948 then joined the Air Force for four years. Charlie married Barbara Elaine Bowers on June 23, 1955, and they were together for 29 years until her death. He retired from AT&T after 34 years and devoted his time to gardening and raising tomatoes. He married Norma Sanderson Cox on September 29, 1991, and they remained together until his passing. They were active members of the Downtown Church of Christ in Cedar Hill where they enjoyed their time with friends and loved ones. He is survived by his wife Norma, sister Lee King, sons Lee and Wes, stepsons Reg and Roy, their families which include seven grandkids and one great-grandchild, and many nieces and nephews. Visitation will be at the Downtown Church of Christ in Cedar Hill, Sunday, October 19th from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. Services will be Monday, October 20th at 11:00 a.m. at the church.
