Development firm Avanti Senior Living, based in The Woodlands, plans to start a $15 million assisted living and memory care community in Flower Mound by the beginning of next year.
The senior living developer plans to start on the 77,000-square-foot senior living facility at Cross Timbers Road and Long Prairie Road in Flower Mound in January, with plans to open to residents in early spring 2016.
At completion, the facility can hold at least 90 seniors and the community will create more than 50 jobs for staff. The community will include 50 assisted living and 40 memory care suites with one- and two-bedroom options with luxurious finishes.
The new senior living community will deliver the best of both worlds of assisted living and the need for independence, said CEO Tim Hekker, who has completed $925 million in acquisitions, and developed more than $1.8 billion in senior housing in the past three decades.
"The layout of the community will give residents easy access to various destinations," he said, adding the community has a variety of spa services, fitness classes and educational classes for seniors.
PRDG is the architect on the development, with interior design by studioSIX5. Cypressbrook Co. is also working on the community.
Avanti plans to initially build in Texas, Louisiana and Florida before expanding the development of senior housing communities to other markets throughout the country.
